LPGA Tour rookie Ryann O’Toole made a quantum leap up the Rolex Rankings this week after finishing tied for fifth at the Safeway Classic Presented by Coca-Cola. O’Toole, who has made six of seven cuts on the LPGA Tour this season, jumped up 33 spots to No. 92 to break into the top 100 for the first time in her career. A graduate of UCLA, O’Toole finished ninth at the U.S. Women’s Open conducted by the USGA earlier this season. She also won her third LPGA Futures Tour event at the Santorini Riviera Nayarit Classic in Mexico in April. The long-hitting Californian averages 265.8 yards off the tee and is currently second in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year race behind Hee Kyung Seo.

Also moving up the Rolex Rankings were Vicky Hurst, Catriona Matthew and Hee Young Park. Hurst matched O’Toole’s three-day 210 total at the Safeway Classic moving her up 11 spots to No. 65. Matthew improved five positions to No. 31 after capturing her third career LET title at the Ladies Scottish Open, while Park leapt 18 spots to No. 52 after carding a season-best third at the Safeway Classic.

After hoisting the Safeway Classic trophy, Suzann Pettersen took over the No. 2 position from Cristie Kerr who now sits at No. 3. Stacy Lewis displaced Karrie Webb at the No. 10 spot, while Rolex Rankings No. 1 Yani Tseng maintained her strong-hold on the top spot for the 28th consecutive week.
